Casanovva Stylish But…
Review By: Sreejith
Casanovva, the venture which took four years to complete has been described by Rosshan Andrrews as his “dream work”. The budget for the film is hyped to be more than any of the prior works done in Malayalam film Industry.
The film was released amid an atmosphere of sky high expectations. The film set in the backdrop of Dubai, is about the Casanovva, a rich flower trader played by Mohanlal. It moves on from the lady charming scenes to the settling of scores with four gangsters who were involved in heist.
The film boasts the presence of the legendary actor Mohanlal who has stood as a class apart, though it has to be said the role should have been suitable to a younger person. Though any of the performance is worth a mention other than Mohanlal’s, neither of them disappoint as well. Everyone had just played their part just OK.
The visuals by Jim Ganesh and the background music make an impact in an otherwise boring movie. The work of Roshan Andrews is commendable.
The story line of the film has been found wanting -: the reality show’s where lovers are united; climax scenes are all negatives of this film.
Poor script of the film has dealt a serious blow to the film. From supposedly famous script writer Sanjay Bobby the audience would have expected a much better script. The watchful eyes of a Malayalee would have taken a much more modest background with a good story line, instead of the poorly scripted skin show.
The much hyped about film “Casanova” proved to be a damn squib and would prove to be a disappointment for the average viewer.
