Prithviraj’s wait for a hit continues as his latest film Simhasanam was rejected by the audience. Simhasanam took a decent opening ranging from 50-60% in its opening weekend.
The film carried negative reports and can be classified as one of the worst film from Shaji Kailas. Penned by the director himself, the was mimicking the directors earlier films and characters.
Simhasanam estimated to have collected approximately 1.20 crore in its opening week and will be out of the release centers in the coming week. The first week distributors share will be 50 Lakhs (approx). There were not many takers for the film in outside Kerala as well.
Simhasanam is removed from most of the centers from Malabar region, including Kohzhikode city which came as a surprise. At Ernakulam Cinemax the film had collected slightly above 2.5 Lakhs with per a show average at Rs 8800.
Simhasanam got hold over in most of the centers in its opening week, and will bring huge losses to its makers. Simhasanam estimated to be completed in a budget of 6 crore including the print and publicity cost.
Simhasanam is expected to end its theater run at the release centers with a gross of around 1.5 Crore to 1.7 Crore.
