Run Baby Run Is A Decent Thriller
Review By Sreejith
After the mega success of Christian Brothers, Joshiy and Mohanlal team is back with Run Baby Run. This time they are accompinied by Sachi of Sachi-Sethu duo, Ratheesh Vegha and Milan Jaleel of Galaxy Films.
Run Baby Run is set in the back drop of media, tells the story of the media professional Venu and Renuka played by Mohanlal and Amala Paul. Venu is high profile camera man who is chased by all the leading medias. He joins the Bharath Vision channel owned by Rishi played by Biju Menon. Renuka is a senior editor with Bharath Vision, who clashes with Venu very often.
The films tells the story of two peoples who cannot stand each other were asked to work together for their recent assignment. It is also shown that they have a bitter past together and were once in a relationship. The film starts slowly and focus more in establishing the relationship between the lead pair and is slow paced, and gradually gets in pace as we move towards the second half where the actual story unflods. Sachi’s script looses the stream at palces, but still manages to keep the film a racy thriller.
Even though there are flaws in the script, Josihy succeded in creating a film that is applealing to the audience. The film depends mostly on its lead cast. Mohanlal does the role of Venu with ease, and carries the film in his own shoulders. With the song ‘Aattumanal Payayil…’ Mohanlal shines as a singer as well.
Amala makes an impressive comeback to Malayalam cinema with a noteworthy performance. Another performance which is worth mentioning is from Biju Menon. The rest of the cast including Sai Kumar, Siddique, Krishna Kumar, Vijayaraghavan does a decent job.
Music director Ratheesh Vegha impress with his compositions and the cinematography of R. D. Rajasekhar is excellent.
Even the script looses its stream at palces, Joshiy had managed to come up with a racy thriller that keeps the audience engaged till the climax. Watch Run Baby Run for its lead cast
