This Lodge Is About Love, Sex & Desire
Review By: Sreejith
There is a new trend in Malayalam to call the film as New Generation movie, if the script or the presentation is different from the tried and tested formula in the past. In that sense, this Trivandrum Lodge too is a new generation film that deals with the sexual desire of people, and is shown through the eyes of various people living in the lodge.
The ensemble cast of Trivandrum Lodge includes Jayasurya as Abdhu, Anoop Menon as the owner of the Trivandrum Lodge, Honey Rose as a divorcee who wants to write a novel about Kochi. Saiju Kurup as sub editor of a film magazine. Another performance that is worth mentioning is of singer P Jayachandran. The film have one of the finest and convincing act from its lead cast, thus saving the film when the plot tend to looses its grip.
Anoop Menon script have an overdose of sex, and crosses the limits at places.
The film excels in all the technical department. The visuals of Pradeep Nair makes the film a visual treat. Background score by Bijibal and the editing of Mahesh Narayanan stands out.
After watching the movie, a question that came to the mind was about BOLD Film! If a movie can be called as a bold film it deals with the subject sex, and have lot many dialogues that cannot be said when you are with your family then this lodge have all the qualification to be called as a bold film.
This technically brilliant Trivandrum Lodge crosses the limits at places with an overdoes of sexual content, have finest performance from the lead cast, especially Jayasurya. Not necessary that all movies need to be watched with family, and V K Prakash’s Trivandrum Logde penned by Anoop Menon is one such film. Trivandrum Lodge is a must watch if you like and followed the so called new generation movies in recent times.
