Celluloid directed and produced by Kamal is about the Father of Malayalam Cinema J.C.Daniel. J.C.Daniel was the writer, producer, director of the first Malayalam film Vigathakumaran. He also played the lead role in the film.

Prithviraj would essasy the role of J.C.Daniel and Mamata Mohandas would play the role of his wife Jannet. Srinivasan to play the role of Chelangad Gopalakrishnan and the film progress through his findings. New comer Chandni is the heroine, and she will be seen playing the role of Rosie, the first heroine in Malayalam Cinema.

Celluloid is scheduled to hit cinemas on first week of February (February 2). The movie is produced and distributed Kamal and Ubaid under the banner by Prime Time Cinema.
